Here's a non-San Francisco History Days event I know many of you will run (or maybe just walk) to: The Making of Mapping, this Thursday, January 25 at 6:00 PM at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.

Place-making, space-shaping, history-capturing: maps do all this and more. But who makes maps? And for whom? Join Shannon Mattern and David Rumsey in conversation with Jon Christensen, editor of BOOM “on the deep history, current contestation, and fraught future of mapping the city.”

This event is at SFMOMA, located on 151 3rd Street, San Francisco, Floor 2, in the Koret Education Center. It’s free! See you there.
