Historypin

Historypin gives communities anywhere in the world the opportunity and tools to gather and share photos, documents, sounds, moving images, stories and oral histories relating to their local history.

It was created by the not-for-profit company Shift (formerly We Are What We Do) to use local history to bring people, especially different generations, together. So far, over 65,000 individuals and community groups as well as 2,500 libraries, archives, museums, schools and universities have run thousands of local projects on Historypin, pinning in over 75 countries.
