St. Cecilia Centennial Photo Archive

St. Cecilia Parish in the Parkside District celebrated its centenary during the 2016-2017 school year. A Centennial Photo Archive was developed to centralize the parish’s photos, with the primary intention of creating a rotating series of Archive displays throughout the centennial year, as well as to provide images for a Parish History book and calendar.

In addition to organizing existing photos on-site at the school and Rectory, we hosted monthly scanning sessions after Mass to crowdsource photos from our parishioners. We also collected photos via email and Dropbox and developed a custom database of 2,200 images.

During the Centennial Year, we produced 8 different displays – divided into eras by pastor by pastor – with 200-300 photos per exhibit. These displays have only been shown privately on-site at St. Cecilia’s: this is the first time our Centennial Archive has been publicly shown. The exhibit on display at S.F. History Days represents the final “all 100 years” timeline that was produced for the final Celebration of the Centennial year.
