UCSF Library Archives & Special Collections

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is a leading university dedicated to promoting health worldwide through advanced biomedical research, graduate-level education in the life sciences and health professions, and excellence in patient care. It is the only campus in the 10-campus UC system dedicated exclusively to the health sciences.

The UCSF Library Archives and Special Collections is a dynamic health sciences research center that contributes to innovative scholarship, actively engages users through educational activities, preserves past knowledge, enables collaborative research experiences to address contemporary challenges, and translates scientific research into patient care. Its mission is to identify, collect, interpret, and provide access to rare and unique material. We support research and teaching of the health sciences and medical humanities and preserve the institutional memory of UCSF.
